ENGLISH SPEAKING ENVIRONMENT (ESE)
A key feature of Bloomsbury International School Hatyai is that students are learning in an English-speaking environment. Students are required to speak English at all times except during Thai and Chinese lessons when they are instructed to speak these languages instead. Students quickly develop their English skills in this environment as they practise English all day every day. This is also helped by having a mix of nationalities and whenever possible by mixing students from different countries when choosing groups in classes and during activity sessions.
This policy is implemented through a reward system that aims to encourage students to speak English as often as possible. There are reminders around the school in the form of posters that ask students to speak English. At Bloomsbury international school we have a strong focus on inclusion, which means that all students are included in lessons and activities. Given the growing number of international students, speaking English around the school is something that takes place naturally as English is the common language.
