Science experiments term 2a

Although we have only been back at school a couple of days, the Science department has been very busy carrying out experiments with Primary and Secondary classes.

Miss Evans has done an experiment with Year 5 and 6, using acid sodium bicarbonate and food colouring.

Mr Gill has taken his Year 9s out of the Science Lab as part of their Ecology unit, to practice sampling techniques. The big square apparatus they used to perform the experiment was called a quadrat, which sectioned off a small section of the field for the students to analyse. They had to count plants within the quadrat to find an estimate of the amount of plants there are on the field.

We look forward to seeing more experiments in the coming weeks.
