First day of term 2a

It was a foggy start to the first day back at school, but everyone was in high spirits for the new year and new term. Bloomsbury International School Hatyai welcomed lots of new faces to our school community this morning. Harriett Baxter, our new additional Year 1 teacher to alleviate our largest class within the school. Two new TAs in Year 1, Sandy and Lizette. We also welcomed eleven new students across the school in Pre Primary, Year 1, Year 2, Year 5 and Year 7.

After flag raising, the school gathered for a whole school assembly in the Convention Hall where Mr Simpson wished everyone a Happy New Year and reminded the students of the new aim to speak more English outside of the classroom. Students have been given a points card which will be signed by staff if they hear them speaking English within the corridors and school grounds outside of lessons. Students will then be entered into a prize draw, where winners will receive a reward.

Mr Mullin and his Year 3 class started our new year assembly with reciting a story the class had memorised at the beginning of the year. Mr Mullin explained that after the students remembered the story off by heart last term, they then created their own versions. Year 3 have invited students and staff to view the display of their work in their classroom.

We hope everyone had a well rested holiday and look forward to the new term ahead.
