Loi Krathong Preparations

Tomorrow is the full moon of the 12th month in the Thai lunar calendar, which marks the annual festival of Loi Krathong.

During their Thai lessons today, students carved their bio-degradable Krathong from banana tree trunks. They then decorated them with elaborately-folded banana leaves, incense sticks, flowers and candles. All the students worked exceptionally well as a team to create a float for their class and they all look beautiful.

Tomorrow, students along with the teachers will be in traditional Thai dress as part of the ceremony in the morning, where the floats will be brought in by the nominated student from each year.

Thank you to the Thai teachers for all their hard work in preparation for Loi Krathong, and we look forward to celebrating tomorrow.
