Gong Xi Fa Cai Bloomsbury! Chinese New Year has arrived once again and students, teachers and parents alike all celebrated in a sea of red and gold. Chinese New Year marks the start of a new zodiac year and we welcomed the Year Of The Pig with an afternoon of festivities. The parents committee provided a banquet like no other: noodles, buns, seafood and much more.
On Friday 25th January 2019 our Year 7 – 11 students undertook a field trip to Baan Din Lan Railway Station (which is located in Tha Chang, Bang Klam, Songkhla), the most illustrious example of a 2018 railway station inspired by the philosophy of economic self-sufficiency.
Children's Day celebrates everything magical about childhood and here at Bloomsbury we certainly celebrated. With help from professional chefs, caterers and medical staff, the Parents Committee kindly arranged a fabulous afternoon of activities for our students. We made scrumptious sushi, delicious Thai desserts, crunchy Chinese fried dough and learnt how to help our friends in a medical emergency.
Bloomsbury’s Principal, Mr Andrew Elliott, delivered an in-service training (‘INSET’) session to teachers and other staff on how to measure the effectiveness with which global citizenship is inculcated in the school’s classes and other operations.
